Alex Motawi

Hi, I’m Alex Motawi, a Project Manager, GIS Expert, Writer, Designer, Advocate, and Creative looking to make a difference, and I am currently based out of both Davis and San Diego California.

One of my favorite things is long distance running. I started in high school running Cross Country and Track and Field and haven’t stopped since. My running journey has been full of many challenges and setbacks, but I ran my first marathon at Avenue of the Giants in May of 2024, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without running around to train my mind and humble me more than I ever would’ve expected.

I have always loved performing, and have spent the past 3 years performing comedy improv with Cherry Pie Comedy. I have also written many comedic sketches with Slaughterhouse Sketch, and have even filmed some of them to present at comedy shows! As a person I have never been afraid of cracking jokes and I am glad at least a few people appreciate it.

I have also been a huge reader for most of my life, though my reading habit really picked up again during the pandemic. I have read constantly since the pandemic (~70 books a year) under the guise that it will make me a better writer and comedian. I’m sure it has, at least a little bit…
